Biography

Matthew Winterbottom is Curator of Nineteenth-Century Decorative Arts at the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology. He was appointed in March 2014. Prior to this he was Curator of Decorative Arts at the Holburne Museum in Bath. There he worked on the redesign and redisplay of the Museum and collections and curated several exhibitions and major displays. Before this he was an Assistant Curator of Decorative Arts at the Royal Collection and at the Victoria and Albert Museum. He is a committee member of the Furniture History Society, the Decorative Art Society and an advisory member of the Silver Society.
